Minister Agrees to my Proposal that Dufferin Avenue Car Park Should be Free
The DRD Minister has just confirmed that the charges at Dufferin Avenue Car Park should be abolished and it should become a Park and Ride facility.
I am delighted as I suggested this in October when I wrote to him about the car parking problems at Bangor West, Carnalea and Helen’s Bay stations.
I hope this will help reduce the parking pressure on these stations but in meetings with Translink and DRD officials I pointed out this will not resolve the problem and that further measures will be required.
